VADODARA: The state which is known for its entrepreneurial spirit is all set to transform itself into the sporting hub too, that is what the goals set by state chief minister Anandiben Patel spells. During her address at Vadodara, Patel said that the state is ready to help budding sportspersons with the required assistance.
“I want our students to develop their sporting abilities to make a mark in the international area.

The state dreams to welcome home an Olympian medallist and reward them generously for their commitment and service to the nation,” Patel while addressing Barodians during her visit on Saturday.
Gujarat state is committed to developing sports infrastructure, added Anandiben Patel. “Students should give equal importance to academics and sports in their lives,” she added.
In a bid to encourage more sportspersons, Patel announced financial aid of nearly Rs one crore for 37 athletes from the state.
As part of the visit, Anandiben Patel inaugurated Swami Vivekanand Niwasi Center of Excellence Academy. The centers will be built in Vadodara, Ahmedabad, Nadiad and Bhavnagar by the Sports Authority of Gujarat. The state also has plans to make Vadodara the hub of sporting events with the establishment of a sport university in the city.
